What is so special about Getting Things Gnome ?

Getting Things Gnome is build around some key concepts :
1. Never get in your way : you should be able to add task and write them as you think. No fields, complicated buttons. You think about it and it's in GTG
2. Every task is only a list of subtask. Because moving a mountain is only a matter of moving big chunk of rock. And moving big chunk of rock is only a matter of moving small rocks. (In your task description, just begin a line with "-" and a new subtask will be automatically created)
3. Use it at your convenience : use tags if you want to sort tasks (a word begining with "@" is automatically a tag). Use subtasks if you want. Find your own workflow.
4. All your tasks in one place. From the lightbulb to your lifetime achievement. All your tasks from the past, the present and the future in one application.
5. Live you life, don't organize it. GTG workview only display tasks you can do **now** and **here**. It doesn't display tasks that depends on another tasks, tasks that cannot start before a given date or tag with tags you have marked as non workable (like an "@someday" tag)
6. Usability. We don't want thousands of options. We want to follow the Gnome HIG and we aim to be simple but powerful at the same time.
7. Integrated with your desktop. We aim to become a Gnome project. We hope, in the future, to integrate more and more with your gnome desktop and other applications.
8. Community. Getting Things Gnome is not about having our own 5 minutes of fame or being our own applications. We need your feedback, we welcome all new ideas. The discussion is always open.

Good luck to this software. I am a little bit afraid by your statement about Gnome integration. I will probably use XFCE as this desktop greatly improves while is still simple (logical) and not full of dependence... Hope that your statement does not indicate we can not use GTG apart from download and install files and libraries we don't care...
Fantastic! great job!
I've been using GTG for a couple of hours and it's already helping. Keep the good work.
Great stuff. Are keyboard shortcuts possible?
I love this application so far and I'd be ready to start using this for my GTD system, except for one thing - there doesn't seem to be a way to have tasks repeat yet. Other than that, I'm very impressed so far! Keep up the great work!
Started using 30 minutes ago, already moving all my tomboy tasks into it and getting rid of tomboy from my panel. Nice!
When will we get a panel applet?
About tags:
Why if you change a tag in a task, it doesn't change in its subtasks? It's very important for "evolving" tasks.
Finally something useful for task management. I like it.
My only comment is +1 for the recurring tasks. That would be great.
Kudos for the whole team!
Me encanta GTG!! Gracias por hacerlo!
i am always skeptical of using products produced by those who are unable to proofread their script, or. having proofed it do not recognize the multiple errors they have made. i would assume your programming has as many errors, if not more, than your script. if you want me to try this; learn how to write a concise, coherent sentence explaining how this will improve my computing experience, until you do that, i and other literate people will ignore your product.
great task manager! i needed a new one, looked at quite a few and - mainly for its simplicity and easyness of use - decided to go with gtg, something i didn't regret yet.
+1 for not relying too much on gnome. i use it with openbox (on crunchbang) and it currently blends in very nicely with a lightweight distro.
thanks for the great work!
@akbozo
...I'm just curious: What exactly is wrong with the "script"? Apart from being a little condensed for brevity.
I - as a non-native English speaker - see more grammar/spelling errors in your 5.2 lines of comment, than in the ~20 lines of description above. Is this just plain trolling? Or is false capitalization a new way of being "literate"?
As far as ignoring this "product" (I don't think that is the right word for (FL)OSS programs...) goes, I suppose you are free to do so: No one will force it upon you!
All people deserve wealthy life time and loan or consolidation loan can make it better. Because people's freedom is based on money state.
Works faultlessly under Linux Mint 10 with XFCE. Also syncs with RTM without error. Nice work, guys.
